Future of Travel :Artist/designer Stephen Chang cut his teeth in the games industry, working on Spider-Man video games before graduating to an eight-year stint at LucasArts. There, Chang worked on Star Wars games and designed the Rogue Shadow starship. His interest has always leaned toward concept aircraft, like this drone.
Chang's fascination with transportation took off at a very young age. His father worked for an airline, allowing him to experience the aviation industry firsthand. "I got to fly a lot and be around a lot of airplanes," he told CNN. "My first sketchbook was a sketchbook full of airplanes."

This sleek, supersonic private jet of the future is part of a series of images by Chang that depict aircraft that surpass the speed of sound. Chang is interested in all kinds of high-speed transportation, such as Elon Musk's proposed Hyperloop -- where passengers would travel at superfast speeds through giant, vacuum-like tubes. "I kind of want to do an art piece on the Hyperloop, and what that might look like in the future, with terminals to take us places much quicker than airplanes."

Chang's "bubble canopy" concept airliner would offer passengers quite a view. Its cabin offers multiple windows covering much of its fuselage. "Most people would be interested in fighter jets," Chang said. "But because my dad worked for an airline, I would always be interested in commercial jetliners."

"The body and the wings blend into each other," Chang said. "The body itself becomes a lifting body."

Chang never formally studied aeronautical design, but this "box wing" is meant to reduce drag. NASA has created aircraft concepts using this idea.

"I'm illustrating what the future looks like," Chang said. "That's my biggest passion." This image shows a concept for a Mars rover. "I just really love vehicles in general."

This ultrafast sailing ship, Chang said, is meant to be a hybrid of an airplane and a boat. "It's almost like it's skipping over the water."
